Variable Speed Drill Press powers through metal, wood, plastic and more, with the ability to drill up to a ½ in. hole through heavy-duty, 1 in. T cast iron. The mechanical variable speed allows you to dial in the exact RPM (from 530 to 3100) for your project with the simple turn of a lever while the digital LED readout displays the current speed. The powerful induction motor features ball bearings for an extended life and balanced performance. The ½ in. chuck with JT33 spindle taper gives you versatility with a variety of bits, with on-board chuck key storage for easy organization. The 8 in. x 7.5 in. cast-iron worktable bevels 45° left and right for those tricky operations. The X-pattern laser shows your drill’s center points, saving on guesswork and sparing expensive materials. The 8 in. x 12.5 in. cast iron base features predrilled holes for easy mounting to the benchtop or work surface of your choice. And because it’s a WEN product, your drill press comes backed by a 2-year warranty, a friendly customer support line, and a stocked inventory of replacement parts. Drill was packed very well, and was easy to assemble, apart from the table which was extremely tight to fit. I had to gently open the crank jaws with a small crowbar to get the unit to fit over the cog strip. Once I had sprayed the column with some WD40, as well as the jaw area, it worked fine. It is still tight, but that is far better loose. So far I am very impressed with this drill press.

Price was good,laser is almost worthless ,speed adjustment is stiff but works,chuck key holder broke off right away it’s plastic. Operates pretty good ,will be portable if I ever need assembles easy.The online order and delivery to store and pickup is excellent .Had to ask for a recite.I would buy again.

Overall I'd say this is about the best you can get for the money, or even higher priced drill presses. So far I've drilled wood without an issue. Also been drilling 3/16 thick steel, big holes 1/2" and 5/8" without an issue. Just use a lubricant (WD40 works well) and let the drill cut at it's own rate, don't force it. I'm getting accurately placed holes that are also accurate size, no enlargement due to drill 'wobbles'. The table is square in both directions right out of the box, but you should always check it with a good square. Table adjusts for height easily, crank is fine but at times does hit your work if you have a large piece at the rear of the table. The only improvement I'd make would be to add a work light.
