    Description

Gorgeous, all original, early, closed mouth, 17" BOURGOINE C JULES STEINER with a beautiful round face, huge piercing blue paperweight lever working sleep eyes, original pate, blonde mohair wig, excellent original STEINER body, stunning original 2 piece outfit with matching bonnet, matching socks and black leather shoes. I also also think her slips and undies are original but I'm not sure on that. She is fully incised on her head and very faintly has the red script BOURGOINE mark, that's hard to read buts its below the incised marking. She is a fabulous cabinet size STEINER with an exquisite antique outfit and is absolutely breathtaking.. She was made in the mid 1800's by the Jules Steiner factory. She is is 17" tall and incised on her head is S ie C 1 along with the BOURGOINE stamp below that. She is an early Bourgoine C series Steiner due to her round full face. She has gorgeous pressed pale, creamy bisque with no chips, cracks or hairlines, and her coloring is exquisite. She has huge piercing blue flat back, spiral threaded paperweight glass eyes and heavy painted upper and lower lashes. She has light mauve highlights above her eyes and the backs of her eyes are incised J Steiner Bte  SDGD very faintly so we know the eyes are original eyes. She also has all the eye lid wax. I really like the lever eyes in the early Steiners, and they work perfectly. The sculpting and detail to her full round face is outstanding and the shading to her pale full lips and closed mouth  is marvelous. She has a wonderful round full face and pierced ears with no chipping. She has her original mohair wig over her original purple cardboard pate that is wonderful with long curls in the back. Her original wood jointed and composition , early, French Steiner body in near mint condition and still retains the original  finish. There is no touch up or repairs and really no wear to speak of and no flaking or peeling. This is a marvelous Steiner body with chunky thighs and a fuller more defined bottom along with thick hands and fingers that are perfect. She is wearing her original 2 piece outfit that I think is  maroon silk and is also lined with a heavier material. The jacket is fabulous and the deep maroon color is stunning. The plaid trim is marvelous and the back of her jacket has a huge bow along with matching lace trim. Its made to look like she has a bus
    tle
in back as all proper lady's dresses did in those days. Her skirt is wonderful with matching plaid insets in back that highlight this outfit perfectly. Dress is longer in back so it hangs wonderfully like a train, and you can add some padding around her bottom to make it fill out more in back. There are two small dark spots on skirt front, but jacket covers them. Her big brimmed matching bonnet is stunning with off setting silk trim and gathers around the brim. She has 2 full slips and pantaloons that make her skirt even fuller along with ruffles around the bottom. Her  original matching socks and shoes are nice. The black leather shoes show wear and are incised GP on soles. This is one of the most beautiful, all original BOURGOINE C series STEINERS that will take your breath away. Not sure what she books for now but when we bought her the book price was 00. If you want more pictures just ask.
