    Description

“CYLINDER CREASED NECK” RUBINA S & P, CRUET, MUSTARD in SP FRAME – VERY SCARCE!
You are bidding on the Condiment Set in a silver plate holder pictured above.
This is shown as a 3-pc set (Salt, Pepper and Cruet only)
    in Mildred & Ralph Lechner’s “
    The World of SALT SHAKERS”,
VOLUME III (c) 1998 on page 197, where the authors state:
“Clear rose to crystal Rubina mold blown glass. The exterior floral motifs were created by a glass cutting wheel; although to view this ware from a short distance one might think that the glass had been acid etched. ….. Circa 1888 – 1894. …. Rare! 0 – 490 set.”
The Salt & Pepper shakers measure 4 1/8” tall to the top of the lids and 1 5/8” in diameter. The Mustard measures a tad over 3” tall to the lid and 1 3/4” in diameter. The Cruet measures 4 ¼” tall without its stopper and 1 ¾” in diameter.
The SP Frame or Caddy measures 9” tall to the top of the handle and 7 ¾” across.  it has very decorative floral and geometric patterns on its handle and sits on 4 perfect feet decorated with geometric scroll figures. The silver plate appears to be virtually intact (except for some “spotting” where the bottles sit) and in very nice shape. Markings on the base indicate it was manufactured by the “Sheffield Silver Co., Brooklyn, NY”. That company was established in 1896.
    CONDITION
    :
I do not see anything that would owe an apology on the Salt, Pepper and Cruet as they are in virtually mint condition “As Made”.  The Mustard was extremely, badly broken and glued back together. (It will serve as a “place holder” until a replacement can be located))  The holder, except for the “spotting” already mentioned, appears to also be in “As Made” condition although it is a little “large”, but it does display the set nicely!
NONE OF MY PICTURES ARE “RETOUCHED” – YOU SEE EXACTLY WHAT THE CAMERA SEES!  (Any white spots are reflections and not damage.)
Please see the pictures which are part of the description, and thanks for taking the time to look. ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK!
I am not an expert on items we sell. I will tell you what I see when I look at the item for names, numbers or other points of interest. You are looking at an antique, vintage item or decorative estate piece.
