20 pieces DUO Bi-Color LEDs 5mm warm white / red clear
We offer you a very rare LED type with two colors in a standard 5mm housing.
Depending on the polarity, it lights up red or warm white (color change by reversing polarity).
Ideally suited, for example, for lighting that changes in the direction of travel on locomotives and railcars, push-pull trains and much more. for analog DC railways
Technical specifications:
Design - 5mm
Luminous color - red and warm white
Voltage - red = 2.00V DC and warm white 3.00V DC
Current - per color max. 20mA
Beam angle - approx. 30 °
Luminosity - ka
Housing color - clear
Connection type - 2-pole (bipolar - color change by reversing polarity)
The connection diagram 1 shows the connection of 4 LEDs with only 2 resistors. The small disadvantage with this simple circuit is the use of only one resistor for both colors. The value of the resistance determines the light intensity. It is therefore not possible to adjust the brightness of the two colors individually.
Connection scheme 2 is a little more complex. The advantage here is the use of 1N4148 diodes. Now you can insert 4 resistors and thus set the brightness of each individual luminous color separately.
The values of the resistors are based on the maximum driving current and also on your individual preferences for brightness.
If you decide on connection diagram 1, you will need with a driving voltage of, for example, max .:
10V - 470 ohms
12V - 560 ohms
14V - 680 ohms
If you decide on connection diagram 2, you will need with a driving voltage of, for example, max .:
10V - 470 Ohm for red and 390 Ohm for e.g. warm white
12V - 560 Ohm for red and 470 Ohm for e.g. warm white
14V - 680 Ohm for red and 560 Ohm for e.g. warm white
The specified resistance values are the minimum values. If you want to reduce the luminosity, then simply use resistors with higher values.
