IMPERIAL FREE HAND HEART AND VINE ART GLASS VASE
IMPERIAL FREE HAND HEART AND VINE ART GLASS VASE, cobalt blue with opal decoration,
shouldered form with a flaring neck and mouth with an orange luster interior, polished pontil mark.
Imperial Glass Co. Circa 1923. 6 3/4" H, 3" D rim, 2 1/2" D base.
Undamaged, a few scattered surface scratches, interior may need a mild cleaning. Inventory #6101130
Literature: Parallels NIGC/Measell (ed.) - Imperial Glass Encyclopedia: Vol. II, p. 449, no. 1700.
This vase was made by the Imperial Glass Company, they developed another line in 1925, to more or less, mass produce a certain type of vase. This line of vases was called Case Lustre Line. It started off in a mold, but was finished and decorated by hand. This particular line only lasted about one year. So, I would expect, that the Lustre Line vases are not easy to come by and are highly collectable. Came from a collector of which I have 2 for sale, the other one retains the label.
Both collectors and decorators will find this beauty very desirable and an excellent antique investment.
