    Description

    This Nippon antique hand painted daffodil vase dates from between 1911 - 1921, and is in very good condition for its age.  It has beautifully rendered daffodils with variations in color of pale green, gold, yellow and beige that are very painterly and sophisticated, and elegant gilded leaves.  It has minimal wear of the gilding at the mouth of the vase, and some whitish lime or hard water scaling at the base (see photos) but is otherwise in very good condition for its age.  There is a tiny bit of staining on the inside which may be removable.  There are a few skips or irregularities from its production and the gilding of the edges is a bit irregular in places as if the painter's hand was shaking a bit.
    It measures 6 inches high x 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point and 2 1/8 inches in diameter at the base.
