Description
Nippon Hand Painted Pink Rose & Ivory & Gold Peony Flowers Maroon Bon Bon DishVery pretty relief molded porcelain double handled bon bon dish. Hand painted with two pink roses in the center framed by a gold gilt and beading hexagon. This is framed by a yellow circle with gold gilt scrollwork overlay and framed in beading. Most of the inside of the dish is painted a bright maroon or dark cranberry color. With hand painted ivory and gilt small peony flowers and large gold gilt peony flowers with gold gilt leaves. The edge of the dish is yellow and gold with gold beading. Unmarked, but probably made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain. Circa 1891 to 1921.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 10 1/8 inches wide from handle to handle x 2 3/8 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
