Nippon Hand Painted Storks Birds Pink Blossoms & Beaded Gold 12 Inch Tall Vase
Nice porcelain vase. Decorated with hand painted storks in front of a tree with pink flower blossoms over a beige / tan background. With gold gilding to the handles. The neck of the vase is decorated with brown and gold stripes, pink and green circles, and a blue floral design in a gold beaded circle. Gold gilding and beading around the opening and base. Gold gilding to the handles. Marked on the bottom Imperial Nippon. This mark is listed on page 95 of Van Patten's ABC's of Collecting Nippon Porcelain as an authentic Nippon mark. The Nippon era of Japanese porcelain was between 1891 and 1921.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide x 12 inches tall.
