Nippon Nut or Berry Bowls.
After years of collecting and loving beautiful Nippon porcelain, we are downsizing and liquidating some of our beloved collections. I have a wonderful collection of Nippon, and most of my pieces have vivid coloring of cobalt, reds, and greens with plentiful gold and beading. This listing is for a set of eight nut or berry bowls. As always with pieces like this, photos do not do this set justice. It is very beautiful and eye catching with bold coloring of emerald greens and deep pinks. Crisp gold beading runs around the perimeter of the bowls and around the medallion decoration in the center. They measure just over five inches in diameter.
This is an unmarked set, but unmistakably Nippon. I do not find any damage in seven of the bowls. The eighth bowl was repaired at one time before I purchased it more than 20 years ago. It appears it was basically broken in half cleanly, and then very professionally glued back together. The final two photos show the damaged bowl. From even a short distance away it is difficult to detect, but easy to see with magnification. It is not noticeable on the table and is very usable.
It is really a very beautiful set of bowls! Perfect for berries at brunch!
