    Description

    Very elaborate and beautifully hand painted antique Nippon floral ferner, planter, or bowl. It measures 8" from rim to rim and stands 4 1/4" high.  It is marked on the bottom with the 1/4" maple leaf stamp which dates it to 1891-1921. It's a very pretty piece with a ruffled top edge, raised moriage gilding, and intensely colored and highly detailed flowers. This is the kind of piece that inspires new collections. The overall condition is good as there is little loss of color. There is some discoloration inside and an interior hairline crack.
