    Description

You are bidding on, or contemplating the purchase of our pre-owned, vintage, and historic, Alumaline 4108 style, brass and leather belt buckle. It depicts two hand tooled type images of the great American Bald Eagle on the face of the buckle. The buckle measures 3 3/8 inches x 2 1/4 inches. There is some light scuffing or marrings on the leather (see all photos), that is generally accepted as favorable on a vintage or pre-owned buckle. Please examine all photos before bidding. The two images that grace the center of the buckle are of an eagle's head, and also of the flying eagle. This buckle was designed with the BIKER in mind. We have viewed on the world wide web, several images of the Alumaline Model 4108, tooled leather over brass belt buckle. The one we are offering herein, is absolutely identical to those we have seen, BUT, "NO" stamping on the reverse side of the buckle, of any kind. It either is an earlier model of the Alumaline buckle, a knock off or faux Alumaline buckle, or a rare and unusual piece that "missed" the stamping during the manufacturer of it. We tend to believe it "missed" the stamping process, making it quite a bit more desirable as a collector item. It, most likely was crafted in the USA, as most of the Biker belt buckles of this era seem to have been made. We can not attest with any authority exactly who the manufacturer is, or when or where this buckle was made, BUT, as a matter of good policy and customer service, we can not, and will not, promote and guarantee our item to be any more than we know. Again, the reverse side, or the back of the buckle, is completely void of any stampings or identification of any kind. Make no mistake, however, this is an oldie but a goody, and we note that it has not been cleaned, polished, or enhanced in any way. The original patina accumulated during its lifetime of more than 20 years of wear and storage is present as you can see in our many actual photos.
