Vintage American Legion Double-Sided Reverse-Enameled Lighted Glass Globe Sign
The front and rear panels are reverse-enameled convex glass - similar to a Gillco globe or cab light.  The graphics are baked onto the back of the glass and, therefore, they will not burn, fade, craze, peel, lift or detach -- unlike reverse-painted glass signs that are susceptible to deterioration over time from humidity, neglect or abuse.  The colors and images on this globe are as crisp and vibrant as they were on the day the globe left the factory.  The panels are 9” diameter.  There are no cracks or breaks.  There is minor chipping around the edges of each panel.  There’s a very small chip at the left notch on the back surface of the front panel.  There are a few very faint scratches on the face of each panel that are barely noticeable when the globe is off; they are not noticeable at all when the globe is on.
The body is milk glass and double sided.  There are a couple of small cracks near the back left screw hole.  (The cracks are photographed from the outside and inside -- see close-up photo.  There are no detached or missing pieces and the body has not been repaired.
The painted copper collar threads onto the neck of the body.  The collar diameter is 3-5/8”  There are some tiny dents around the rim, but they don't interfere with removing or reinstalling the body.
The painted metal base has no dents or damage.  There are scratches in the paint finish here and there.
The internal lamp socket, wiring, cord and plug are original and in good working order.  The 25-watt light bulb is new.
This item has been very carefully packaged in paper, bubble wrap and foam peanuts for shipping in a sturdy corrugated cardboard box.
