    Vintage Delta Rockwell Variable Speed Drill Press, good working order.
    This is a full height floor model drill press.
    Here we have a vintage variable speed Rockwell Delta drill press. This has the original 3-phase motor, which I have run very successfully from my home-made rotary phase converter.
    The drill press runs very smoothly, and the variable speed mechanism works very well - it changes speed very nicely.
    With an excellent Allen-Bradley magnetic motor starter.
    Unfortunately, I have packed up my rotary phase converter, so can't demonstrate running of the press.
    I refurbished this drill press some years ago - when I got it, it was quite rusty, most of the paint was worn off. I took it all apart, cleaned it very well, repainted it, put it all back together.
    A single-phase motor could be fitted to this - it takes a "48 frame" motor (1/2 inch shaft) The magnetic starter can be adapted for single-phase - a web search will turn up instructions on doing that.
