    Description

    The item up for auction is one (1) Base unit from a Walker Turner 700 Series 13" Bench Top Drill Press, Driver Line.  Nice clean condition on this base, save for the crack as pictured there are no other deformities, cracks or breaks. In regards to the crack; when I removed the 2" column the bolt and nut were already loose and the column fit plenty snugly in the base in looking the crack and the bolt and nut over it appeared to me that the bolt, nut and washer were replacements and of course the time couldn't be taken to grind the washer flat on one edge, as it needed to be, for the washer to fit flat on the casting. When the nut was tightened it placed unequal pressure on the casting and hence the crack. Be that as it may the crack is still there and won't go away without some help.
