    About the Dream Fountain Pen "Taiyo
    The "Sun" is the first piece in the Meraki Collection created by a Maki-e craftsman, Mr. Yamanoshita, using the Togi-dashi technique.
    The craftsman himself traveled as a peddler and used what he saw and felt about the world's movements as inspiration for the design of his work.
    The motif of this edition is the stimulating scattered light of the sun.
    About the Togi-dashi technique
    Artisans created this design using the traditional sharpening technique, a long process of lacquering, sharpening, and polishing.
    First, the base is painted with natural lacquer and allowed to dry. Next, several coats of other colors of lacquer are applied, and then the top coat of "roiro urushi" is applied and dried thoroughly. After that, the surface is polished with charcoal to reveal the design. After the surface has dried sufficiently, we repeat finishing and polishing until it becomes shiny.
