Description
You are bidding or contemplating the purchase of our pre-owned, vintage and historic, pewter colored "Live to Ride, Ride to Live" Belt Buckle, with a Flying Eagle gracing the center of the buckle. This buckle was designed with the BIKER in mind. It appears to have been masterfully crafted in pewter in the USA, by the Bergamot Brass Works Company. It carries the model designation of R-37. It features a buckle designed with a large American Bald Eagle gracing the center of the buckle with two large banners reading at the top and bottom of the buckle "Live to Ride, Ride to Live". This "Live to Ride, Ride to Live" pewter belt buckle is stamped with a copyright dating it to 1981. It, of course, has been made in the USA. The buckle measures 2.75 inches x 3.75 inches and has been designed to accomodate belt widths with a maximum width of 1.75 inches. This is is a very rare, and very collectible belt buckle, dated and copyrighted 39+ years ago, in 1981! Please know, we can not attest with any authority exactly what the metalurgic composition might be. It is most likely pewter, as we have seen other eBayer's advertising this model to be pewter, BUT, to be totally honest and forthright, we can not and will not, guarantee our item to be any more than we know, which is that it is made from metal. It is indeed a popular Biker designed buckle made and or copyrighted in 1981, and its manuafacture and and design, as well as model numbers are exactly as written in this ad, and shown in our many accompanying photos. The reverse side, or the back of the buckle, absolutely documents the rareness and antiquity of this unique piece of motorcycling history. First, it is stamped as being copyrighted in 1981, then the serial number or perhaps model number "R-37" is carefully stamped. There are four stampings on the reverse of this buckle, the first, a center stamp reading @1981 Bergamot Brass Works@, another circle with the words Made in USA, an ornate design, most likely a company logo is also stampe in another circle and the fourth circle that is stamped is the model number "R-37". Make no mistake, this is an oldie but a goody, and we note that it has not been cleaned, polished, or enhanced in any way. The original patina accumulated during the past 39 plus years of wear and storage is present (but, we believe it to be exceptionally clean, and never worn on a belt) as you can see in our many actual photos. Our experience in dealing with prized collectible's is to leave them alone, keep them natural, and permit the new owner to make changes to the appearance if they so choose. Keep it and preserve it as the collectible that it is or just hook up your belt and wear it the way it is, or feel free to polish it and brighten it as a new item by enhancing it yourself (does not look like polishing will be too necessary)."Live to Ride, Ride to Live" Eagle Belt Buckle ~ 1981 Bergamot Brass Works R-37 ~ Silver Color
